The focus of the review should be on evaluating quality changes to the daily lived experience of and in light of these changes, or lack of them determining actions such as continuation of the plan.
Detail the progress made against these outcomes from the adult’s point of view
Engagement of adult at risk or their representative in the review process is essential. It is important to establish whether they believe the plan is having a positive impact on their lives.
Specific evidence is necessary that the plan has had a positive impact on the adult at risk.
Detail the progress against these outcomes from others involved
The strategy group should provide reports, that combined, provide a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by the group and its effectiveness.
When considering progress, it is important to recognise the impact of staff workloads, sickness, lack of resources etc on the implementation of the plan.
What are the current levels of risks of abuse and neglect to the adult?
Members of the review should try and understand why the adult at risk and/or their carers may not have engaged with aspects of the plan and whether changes to the plan could promote engagement.
